Corona has swept the world, and the hottest topic at the moment is vaccines.
In France, if you do not have a "sanitary pass" that shows the evidence you have been vaccinated or PCR negative within 48 hours, you will not be able to enter restaurants or shopping centers, or board flights, etc. from August. Healthcare workers will be required to be vaccinated, and non-vaccinated persons will be penalized from September 15. There are many opponents agaiinst this policy, and large-scale demonstrations are taking place.
In the United States, there is a political conflict of vaccine supporters vs. vaccine skeptics = liberal vs. conservative.
In Japan, vaccination is an "obligation to make an effort" which is different from obligation. "Inoculation is not compulsory, and in the end, you will have to make a decision on inoculation after you are convinced," says the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare website. In other words, it is your choice.
On the other hand, the government has started accepting applications for vaccine passports as an inoculation certificate for overseas travel. It is said that it will be issued about 10 days after application.
Let's sort out the facts about vaccines here.
The corona vaccine is still in clinical trials, but due to the unusual situation of a global pandemic, it is generally inoculated ahead of schedule. According to the Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association, it takes 9 to 17 years to develop a new drug. "Most of the candidate substances studied are so difficult to succeed in drug development that in many cases development is abandoned in the middle of the process," says the Association's website.
Even if a new drug has been released after a long process of development, clinical trials have a limited number of subjects and a limited period of time, and there are side effects that generally appear only after it is on the market.
For this reason, YouTuber medical doctor Seiji Ishiguro warns that "new drugs after being marketed are the most dangerous."
For example, thalidomide had the side effect of giving birth to a malformed child due to administration to a pregnant woman. That was found only after the medicine was on sale and it took five years to recall it. Similarly, It took 7 to 8 years to clarify the cause of deaths due to the administration of the DPT vaccine (diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus) and correct it.
Based on these reflections, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare reviewed the drug administration to prevent the recurrence of drug disasters, and published the final proposal in 2010. In this report, the reasons for the occurrence of drug disasters are that risk information was unfairly disregarded and appropriate measures were not taken, and that the information was evaluated incorrectly and the government did not make regulatory decisions. This was the fundamental problem.
After the Pfizer vaccine was administered, 751 deaths have been reported in Japan so far, of which only 3 have no causal relationship between the vaccine and death.
Furthermore, there is a report that corona developed and a high fever of 40 degrees occurred even after two inoculations. A recent study by Osaka University suggests that vaccination may aggravate people with infection enhancement antibodies.
Meanwhile, the elucidation of therapeutic agents is also progressing. According to a group of doctors engaged in corona life-saving medicine, administration of an antiparasitic drug called ivermectin has dramatically reduced the number of cases of corona infection and death, the weekly Shincho reported. Kowa Co., Ltd. announced that it would start a clinical trial to administer the drug to corona patients in collaboration with Kitasato University, which developed ivermectin.
Considering all of these situations, it must be said that it is too quick and dangerous to make vaccination virtually mandatory at this point.
I suddenly remembered the cyber security training in the workplace. One of the characteristics of suspicious emails that spread viruses and launch cyber attacks is a sense of urgency. For example, "Your password has been stolen. Please click on the link below to change your password immediately." The system went down as an employee clicked on such a link.
"It's Me Scam" is similar to this. According to the National Police Agency website, a typical method is that a swindler makes a phone call to an old person by pretending to be her/his son and says "I dropped the bag containing the company's money! I need the money today. Can you help?" The scam is characterized by proposing that money is urgently needed.
Similarly, there is a sense of urgency in such statements that "complete vaccination by XX" and "you can't go shopping unless you are vaccinated by XX." The recent policies on COVID-19 vaccination in France or elsewhere make me feel suspicious, like I am skeptical about scam emails or "It's Me Fraud."
