Oh my god…how nostalgic. Japanese public broadcaster NHK used to
air the show on weekend night. I videotaped it in VHS and watched it over
and over again. It is soooooooooooo California.
When I went to LA to see a friend of mine that I got to know in a
GRE class, she took me to the very high school that was used in Beverly Hills,
90210.
At that time I was attending a summer school at Stanford. Its campus was
an even posher version of the high school. While I appreciate each university’s
unique charm, Stanford stands out for its entire gorgeous presence under the
brilliant sun and Mediterranean air.
Well...no, posh or gorgeous is not exactly the right word. I groped for it, but no luck. I would quote a line in an email I received from a renowned journalist who also studied there. In response to my note that raved about the campus, she said "How dreamy..."
If I could ever replay a time of my life, that summer is certainly
a top priority. I wouldn’t mind doing that over and over again.
