How to survive economy class

My organization does not allow business class for business trips, not to mention first class. Economy is the only option I have to survive. For the past few years I have come to feel exhausted by an over ten hour flight, so I have managed to use business class on holidays. Then even business class makes me tired, so the idea of flying economy is daunting.

That said, if/to what extent one prepares for the challenge does make a difference. Ideally, one might want to reserve a flight well in advance so s/he can choose an aisle seat. Then one can stand up and go to the toilet whenever it is available.

A neck pillow also helps. This time around, I’ll bring a low frequency massager that runs with two small batteries. I think this is better than nothing to encourage better blood flow.

Finally, I’ve put some energy drinks, a bottle of green tea, a cup of instant soup noodle and some snacks in my suitcase so I can take a rest without going out for shopping after arrival.

Fingers crossed….hope I can manage to carry through…!
