Non-verbal communication at conference

This afternoon I managed to make it to a conference which I didn't want to miss for its to-the-point topic and the high-profile position of the speaker.

He provided some interesting ideas, but he appeared to lack knowledge which I think is 101. As a result, his talk was hopelessly off the mark.

Then my eye unconsciously shifted and stopped at someone who had been looking at me. I intuitively thought that he must have thought the same way.

Turns out he asked the exact question I was also going to ask. Not surprisingly, the speaker didn't answer the question.

After the conference, the entire audience seemed like they didn't know what to say. That was an interesting feeling that unified all of us.
