For the past few weeks I've been pondering over the relationship with my late mother and suddenly realized the perfect example that describes her inherent personality: Scarlett O'Hara.
I was chatting with a friend last night, and before touching on that idea, just in case I asked him, "Have you seen a movie called Gone with the Wind?"
The answer was "No." Indeed, he did not even know the title of the movie, not to mention Scarlett O'Hara. So, I overviewed the Civil War, compared it with WWII and discussed what perseverant women both O'Hara and my mother were.
Similarly, when I was explaining about my work and how it is related to trade shows, the conversation partner asked me, "What is a trade show?"
Both gentlemen are top experts in their respective fields, and their technical terms should be all Greek to most people.
I thought it quite an interesting and revealing experience to interact with people from all sorts of backgrounds, and learn about the fascinatingly disparate worlds where each of us actually live in.
