Next week I’ll give a speech, or two speeches. Saying “a few”
words, so to speak, but often they mean hundreds of words. I imagine this idiom
might come from the wishful thinking that speeches should be short, though that is not usually the case.
I value truthfulness, and in fact, I attempt to do say a few
words, literally.
To be exact, I looked up a dictionary. It says “a small number of”
or some say “two or three.”
Then perhaps I’ll say “thanks for everything.”
