Here is my plan on Monday when I take a leave. Using a ticket I go
to the gym, swim and sauna. Then take a bus to Nishiazabu to detox radioactive
materials and additives by taking an “enzyme bath” of hot cypress sawdust.
Perhaps eat the famous Hobson’s ice cream and go to a karaoke box that offers just
about any songs from Japanese pop to the 80s soft rock.
Then go to Laura Ashley’s sale of wall papers and curtains and
examine which one would fit my second house. I actually don’t like their too
girly patterns, but the bedding I recently purchased has turned out to be
wonderful.
I’ll be back home by 4pm to receive items that I had ordered at an
online grocery store. At 6pm I’ll talk with my favorite English teacher by Skype
on recent European affairs and life in general.
I’ll enjoy sashimi that was just delivered for dinner while watching
BBC or CNN; and play Hawaiian music in Bowers & Wilkins PC speakers. My
apartment is very quiet, well-maintained and free from noise or mess of
children.
In Tokyo, being single is common and there is no pressure that one
needs to take a partner to a party, while there are couples as well. Either is
fine. Any lifestyle is acceptable, and there are all sorts of services that make it possible.
Except for the summer heat, I think Tokyo might be the most
livable city in the world. I am very happy about that.
