Without any sleeping pills, I was completely sound asleep -- and woke up to the cracking of the audience.
I do remember the beginning part. It was like a literature review of a paper -- simply so obvious that even I was aware of the situation without being told by the speaker.
Then he moved on and said that any country can claim itself as a developing country at the WTO. That familiar statement had the same effect as a slightly joggling train, which immediately drove me to drop off to sleep.
It's true I was quite tired. But I did have the energy to attend the conference to learn about the subject. If the talk had been interesting, I would have listened to it.
What conference is intriguing and what conference is not?
I guess there is such a thing as a "broken record effect" which serves as a lullaby.
