Photogenic
I
hate the picture of me in the passport. It looks very old. A previous one was
too young – it was taken when I was eighteen, but people said I looked eight.
Years
later, a senior colleague told me I was photogenic, referring to a group photo
we took at a dinner gathering. I secretly asked another colleague if he meant I
was ugly in person, but she kindly emphasized that I looked great in the picture,
that’s it.
Earlier
this month, I received a press interview. When the article came
out, I was frankly shocked by the picture with it. “Oh, no…!!! There should be
better ones,” I had to tell myself and a coworker. She agreed with me, but
another one said “That’s not bad.”
Anyway,
it’s true that the picture captured a moment of reality. Now I strive to be
photogenic.
